Telangana govt gives ‘preventive push’ to health sector, but gaps remain

Telangana’s health budget for 2026-27 sees a 10.4% increase to ₹13,679 crore, shifting focus to preventive healthcare. The state plans to expand hospital bed capacity and introduce a digital health profiling system. Priority areas include maternal and child health, chronic disease control, and mental healthcare, with expansion in medical education also underway.
