What if your wearable could tell you more than just how many steps you walked or how fast your heart was beating? Deepinder Goyal’s Temple is trying to do exactly that. The Zomato and Eternal co-founder is preparing to bring his brain-tracking wearable to consumers, with the latest version now less than half the size of the one he showed earlier. Goyal says Temple is now the smallest wearable on the market by volume and calls the new version its most powerful yet. The company plans to open pre-orders for a limited-edition launch soon, with shipments expected to begin before the end of 2026. Temple first caught attention when Goyal appeared on Raj Shamani’s ‘Figuring Out’ podcast wearing a tiny metallic device attached to the side of his forehead. The wearable has since been seen on athletes, including badminton star PV Sindhu. Now, Temple appears to be moving closer to becoming a product that regular users can buy and wear.
What exactly is Temple? Temple is not designed like a typical smartwatch or fitness band. Instead of mainly tracking steps, heart rate or physical activity, it focuses on signals linked to brain function.
The device is designed to monitor cerebral blood flow in real time, along with other measurements related to brain activity. These include signals associated with oxygen levels, cognitive load and entropy. In simple terms, Temple is trying to give users a better picture of how their brain and body respond during different activities. Why could it be useful for athletes? For athletes, knowing how the body is performing is only part of the picture. Temple could potentially provide additional information about fatigue, recovery, focus and sleep by tracking signals related to brain function. This makes the device different from conventional fitness trackers, which largely focus on physical measurements. How much will Temple cost? The company has not yet announced the final price of Temple. However, an earlier India Today report suggested that the wearable could cost around ₹72,000.
Temple is preparing for a limited-edition launch, with pre-orders expected to open soon. The company says it plans to begin shipping the device before the end of 2026. People interested in the wearable can join Temple’s mailing list through its website for updates on the launch.
