Talking to ChatGPT just got way simpler. No more hunting for buttons or switching screens, OpenAI has finally made voice chat feel like normal chat. In a post on X, the company said, “You can now use ChatGPT Voice right inside chat—no separate mode needed.” This means you can talk to ChatGPT and watch the text replies appear live on the screen, just like a real conversation.
You can also see any images, maps, or other visuals appear while you speak. ChatGPT Voice now works directly inside the main chat window on both mobile and web.

How to use the new voice feature
Still prefer the old voice screen? You can keep it OpenAI isn’t removing the previous interface. If you want, you can switch back to the classic full-screen voice mode: Settings → Voice Mode → Turn on “Separate mode.” This restores the earlier layout with the dedicated voice-only screen.
