A senior CPI (Maoist) commander, Madvi Hidma, was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in the Maredumilli forest area. Hidma, a Central Committee Member and in-charge of the PLGA battalion in the southern theatre, was identified by Telangana SIB after the operation. The encounter occurred based on specific intelligence inputs.
