Tech company Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is going to launch two new devices, the Redmi Note 15 smartphone and the Redmi Pad 2 tablet, in the Indian market on January 6. The 5G smartphone will be launched in the lower mid-budget segment with a 108-megapixel camera and a 5520mAh battery. According to media reports, the Redmi Note 15 will be launched with 8GB RAM and will be available in two storage options. The mobile has already been launched in China, but the Indian model will be different from the Chinese version. Some details of the smartphone have been shared by the company, and some information has emerged through leaks. According to leaks, the 128GB storage variant of the mobile could be priced at ₹22,999. Meanwhile, the 256GB memory variant could be priced at ₹24,999. Its existing model, the Redmi Note 14, was launched with the 8GB+128GB variant at ₹19,999 and the 8GB+256GB variant at ₹21,999. The phone will be launched with an IP66 rating. This will protect it from light water splashes. The smartphone’s thickness is stated to be 7.35mm, which will give it a sleek look. Redmi Note 15 Smartphone: Specifications Camera: For photography, the Redmi Note 15 will feature a dual camera setup with an LED flash light on the back panel. It includes a high-resolution 108-megapixel main sensor, which can record 4K videos with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Users will also get multifocal portrait and dynamic shots in this. Information about the secondary sensor is not available yet, but it could be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Meanwhile, a 20-megapixel front camera might be provided for selfies and video calling. Performance: The Redmi Note 15 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core processor for performance. This is a mobile chipset built on a 4nm process, capable of running at a clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. It can boost GPU performance by 10% and CPU performance by 30% compared to the previous generation. The company claims to offer 48 months of lag-free performance with the smartphone. In India, this phone will run on Xiaomi Hyper OS 2. Screen: The phone will feature a 6.77-inch Full HD+ screen with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels. It will be a punch-hole style display built on a curved AMOLED panel. It operates at a 120Hz refresh rate and has a peak brightness of 3200 nits. The mobile will be equipped with Hydro Touch 2.0 feature, allowing the phone’s touch to be used without interruption even with wet hands. It will also feature in-display fingerprint sensor technology. Redmi has stated that the screen is TUV Triple Eye Care certified, which will prevent eye damage even after prolonged use. Battery: The mobile will be equipped with a 5520mAh battery for power backup. The company is bringing it with 5 years of battery health. Redmi claims that after a full charge, the mobile can work for up to 1.6 days. For charging, it will feature 45W fast charging technology. Redmi Pad 2 Pro Tablet Redmi launched the Redmi Pad 2 with 8GB RAM, 9000mAh battery, and an 11-inch touch screen in June this year. Now the company is bringing its upgraded version. The company will also bring the Redmi Smart Pen and Redmi Pad 2 Pro keyboard along with the tablet. It is expected that the price of Redmi Pad 2 Pro could be between 20 to 25 thousand rupees. The company might also launch it in a Wi-Fi option along with the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G. Redmi Pad 2 Pro Tablet: Specifications Display: It will feature a 12.1-inch screen. The company is calling it the world’s largest screen tablet. The brand has stated that this tablet will launch with a QHD+ resolution display, which will support a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to be a Dolby Vision display. Performance: The Redmi Pad 2 Pro has already been introduced in the global market. In India, the device will be brought with specifications similar to the global model. Overseas, this tab runs on Android-based Hyper OS 2. For processing, it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core chipset, built on 4nm fabrication, which can run at a clock speed of up to 2.8 GHz. Camera: In the global market, this Redmi tablet supports a 13-megapixel back camera. For video conferencing or online meetings, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front panel. Both cameras can record 1080P video at 30fps. Features like Dolby Atmos quad speakers, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 are also provided. Power Backup: The Redmi Pad 2 Pro global model was also launched with a 12000mAh battery, and the same battery will be available in the Indian model. It features 33W fast charging technology for charging. Additionally, the device also supports 27W reverse charging technology, which can be used to charge other devices like mobile phones, earbuds, or smartwatches.
