A top Maoist commander, Barse Deva, has surrendered to Telangana Police. Deva was a close aide of the recently killed Maoist leader Madvi Hidma. His surrender is a major setback for the Maoist organization. This follows intensified anti-Naxal operations and appeals from officials. Another Naxalite was killed in an encounter in Bihar.
