Megapolis in making: Hyderabad set for major expansion as 27 ULBs join GHMC; 150 wards to get Rs 2cr each in massive development drive

Hyderabad’s urban landscape is set for a major transformation as the state cabinet approved merging 27 local bodies with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). This expansion aims for administrative uniformity and improved civic amenities. Additionally, a significant infrastructure upgrade will see Hyderabad’s electricity cables moved underground, costing an estimated Rs 14,725 crore.
