
Cloudflare, which protects websites from cyberattacks, went down again on Friday. This affected several platforms like Zerodha, Groww, Canva, Downdetector, Zoom, Angel One, Upstox. The company stated that there was a problem with dashboards and APIs, due to which the system remained down for half an hour. This caused requests to fail and users to see error messages. This is the second major outage since November 18. More than 2,100 reports were received on Downdetector, a website that provides information about server outages, starting from 1:50 PM. Platforms like Canva, Zoom also went down Cloudflare reported that the dashboard and APIs were affected due to internal service degradation. Users were experiencing issues with website access, server connections, and hosting. Zerodha stated that the service has been restored. On November 18, more than 1.4 crore websites were affected due to Cloudflare being down. These included X, ChatGPT, WhatsApp, Instagram, Spotify, Canva, Claude AI, Uber, and Zoom. Cloudflare provides content delivery network, security, and routing services to over 20% of the world’s websites. It is estimated that Cloudflare serves one out of every five websites globally.
