Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing to launch its performance-oriented ‘Turbo’ series in India for the first time. The company has released a teaser for it on social media platform X. The phone will come with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. This phone has already been launched in China, where its starting price is Yuan 1,999 (approximately ₹28,200). In India, its price may be around ₹45,000 and it may be launched on June 5. It will compete with smartphones like OnePlus Nord 6 and Vivo V70 FE. Will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset For performance, the phone is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. This phone has been specially designed keeping in mind users who do gaming and heavy tasks. The phone is expected to deliver excellent thermal stability and gaming performance. IP69K rating provided for durability The phone comes with a glass back along with a metal frame. In terms of durability too, this phone is quite advanced. It has received high ratings like IP66, IP68 and IP69K for protection against dust and water. Talking about storage, it offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 internal storage. 7560mAh battery and 100W fast charging The biggest feature of the Redmi Turbo 5 is its 7560mAh silicon-carbon battery. Some media reports are claiming that the battery capacity could be up to 9000mAh. The phone will support 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging. 1.5K AMOLED Display and 50MP Camera The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, it has a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on the back panel.
