Jio-Star has updated the subscription plans for Jio Hotstar, adding monthly options across all categories for the first time. While this gives users more choice, it also brings higher prices for Super and Premium plans, and new limits for mobile users. Monthly plans start at ₹79 for mobile users Under the new structure, users will now have to pay at least ₹79 per month to watch content on a mobile phone. Earlier, some plans were available only as quarterly or annual packs, but now monthly options are available for Mobile, Super and Premium categories.
While this makes it easier for users who don’t want long commitments, the entry price for watching content on mobile has gone up compared to earlier offers. Super and premium plans see a sharp price hike The biggest changes are in the higher-end plans, particularly for users who watch on multiple devices, including TVs. The Premium annual plan has increased from ₹1,499 to ₹2,199, making it the costliest option on the platform so far. The Super annual plan has also gone up from ₹899 to ₹1,099. Jio-Star says the revision is linked to a rise in people watching content on connected TVs and large screens over the last year, which has changed how users consume shows and sports.

Existing users can keep old prices, but only with auto-renewal Current subscribers will not be affected immediately. Jio Hotstar has clarified that users with active plans will continue at the old rates as long as auto-renewal remains switched on. However, once a plan expires and a user buys a new pack, the updated prices will apply. In short, loyal users are safe for now, but only if they don’t let their subscription lapse. The revised prices will apply from January 28, 2026, and only for new subscribers. Mobile plan no longer includes hollywood content Another major change affects mobile-only viewers. With the new ₹79 mobile plan, Hollywood movies and international series will no longer be included by default. Users who want access to this content will need to buy a separate ₹49 add-on pack. Hollywood content will still be part of the Super and Premium plans, which continue to offer access across devices including TVs and laptops. Ads will continue during live sports, even on premium Jio Hotstar has also confirmed that advertisements will remain unavoidable during live sports and live shows. Mobile and Super users will see ads across all content, including movies and series.
Premium users will get ad-free entertainment content, but cricket matches and other live broadcasts will still carry ads. So even the most expensive plan won’t offer completely ad-free viewing if you’re tuning in for live sports.
