Jaipur gets major data centre project approved:Union minister says ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ soon; 10 lakh youth to receive AI training nationwide under plan

Data center will be built in Jaipur, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Tuesday. He said the groundbreaking ceremony will happen soon. Vaishnaw also said that 5,000 youths will get training through Laghu Udyog Bharati. He made the announcement while speaking at the AI Impact Conference, part of the Rajasthan Digifest Tie Global Summit-2026, held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center. The program’s theme was ‘AI – Accessible to all, for everyone’. The minister added that a new program has been launched to train 10 lakh youths in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He said the benefits will reach not only the youth of Rajasthan but young people across the country. India included in Top-3 in Stanford AI Index
Ashwini Vaishnaw said – India has been included in the top-3 countries in the Artificial Intelligence Index released by Stanford University. In this index, China, America, and India have been recognized as leading countries in the world for AI innovation, use, development, and research. He said that in the coming time, people from all over the world will turn to these countries for AI-related studies, research, and innovation. Vaishnav said that India’s IT industry is a great strength of the country’s economy and Rajasthan has a significant contribution to it. It is necessary to prepare this industry for the new era and new technology. He said that just as extensive work was done earlier in the fields of mobile, internet, 5G, and semiconductors, similarly, AI scaling will now be done with the same speed and on a large scale, so that the country can become technologically stronger. Minister Jitin Prasada said that deepfake and misinformation have become a major challenge today. India is a country of diversities, where religion, caste, food habits, and lifestyles are different. In such a situation, misinformation can harm society. The government is working seriously on this. Consultations are also being held with the industry. During the event, Rajasthan’s new AI-ML Policy 2026 was launched. Through this policy, the focus will be on promoting local startups in the state, strengthening AI infrastructure, and connecting youth with technology. The government’s focus is to ensure that AI-based services reach common people in an easy and accessible manner. During the program, the National AI Literacy Program, iStart LMS, Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal, and Rajasthan AI Portal were launched. During the program, the state government also signed MoUs through holography with various institutions including Google, IIT Delhi, and National Law University Jodhpur.
